Returns, Refunds & Resizing Policy
Effective 21 October 2026
How we deal with customer-selected sizes, changes of mind, manufacturing errors, delivery problems and our 12-
month craftsmanship guarantee.
1. Policy priority and statutory rights
The Wooden Circle Co makes every ring individually to order, with a standard flat-fit interior unless a different profile
is agreed beforehand. We do not ordinarily accept returns or exchanges for discretionary changes of mind or an
incorrectly customer-selected size. This does not affect consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
or any applicable mandatory overseas law.
If a listing offers a different discretionary return arrangement, we will honour that disclosed arrangement. Mandatory
rights take priority over any inconsistent term.
2. Change of mind and customer-selected specifications
We do not ordinarily accept discretionary returns or exchanges because a customer changes their mind, prefers
another design or finish, no longer wants a ring, or selects an incorrect size or customisation. Every ring is made to
order. This policy is subject to mandatory legal rights and any more favourable arrangement expressly offered in the
item listing or written order agreement.
We may make an exception by written agreement, but customers must obtain that agreement before returning an
item. Any agreed discretionary return conditions and costs will be provided in writing. This is not a promise that a
return will be accepted.
3. Cancellation before dispatch
For orders placed through our website or accepted directly by us, cancellation requests received within two days (48
hours) of purchase will be accepted. Email woodencircle@outlook.com with your order number and a clear
cancellation request. Any applicable refund will be processed to the original payment method. Mandatory legal
cancellation rights are unaffected.
If you contact us after that window, we will consider whether a change or cancellation can still be accommodated,
taking into account production progress and the confirmed specifications. No additional cancellation charge will be
imposed unless it was properly disclosed and agreed and is lawful. Statutory cancellation and remedy rights
continue to apply regardless of these timeframes.
4. Ring sizing and incorrectly selected sizes
Our standard ordering format uses US ring sizes, but we can consider Australian size specifications when agreed
with us before manufacture. Because bands 6 mm or wider can feel tighter than narrower sizing gauges, customers
should use appropriately wide ring sizers and preferably verify their size with a reputable jeweller. A narrow plastic
sizer may not accurately represent the fit of a wider band. Avoid measuring finger size using string, paper strips or a
ruler.
Unless otherwise requested by the buyer and accepted by us before manufacturing, rings are produced with a flat-fit
interior. We make the ring in the agreed size and do not automatically add size compensation for band width. A
different requested fit must be expressly confirmed before production. Contact us before purchase if uncertain.
Only selected rings can be resized. Feasibility depends on the metal, construction, internal profile and ring style;
where enlargement is possible, the adjustment may be limited (often about one-quarter to one-half of a US size).
Some rings cannot be resized at all, and a new ring may be required.
When the buyer has selected an incorrect size, any available resizing or replacement is a discretionary paid service
and is subject to an individual quotation. Pricing varies by material, ring style and the work involved. We will quote
the price, return-postage and delivery arrangements on request and seek the customer’s agreement before
proceeding. When we supply an incorrect agreed size, statutory remedies apply without unlawful charges.
5. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed items
Contact us if a ring arrives damaged, has a possible defect in material or workmanship, is the wrong material, size,
design or finish compared with the confirmed order, or otherwise does not meet an applicable consumer guarantee.
Please give the order number, a clear description and photographs if practical. Retain damaged delivery packaging
where reasonably possible.
THE WOODEN CIRCLE CO / RETURNS & REFUNDS
THE WOODEN CIRCLE CO • 21 OCTOBER 2026
Under the ACL, remedies depend on the nature of the failure. In general, for a major failure the consumer may
choose a refund or replacement; for a minor failure we may be entitled to arrange a repair within a reasonable
period. Other rights, including compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, may also apply.
We will not require original packaging as a condition of a statutory remedy. Where a product is confirmed to have a
fault covered by consumer guarantees, we will reimburse reasonable return-postage costs as required by law.
Please keep proof of postage and contact us for instructions before sending an item where reasonably possible.
6. Transit loss, damage and shipping cover
If a ring is missing, delayed or damaged while being delivered, contact us promptly so we can investigate with the
carrier and assist with a remedy required by law. Purchasing optional parcel insurance or an express service is not a
condition of exercising statutory consumer rights. Any shipping insurance requirement or upgrade should be shown
and agreed at checkout; carrier cover does not replace our legal responsibilities.
If a parcel is returned because the address supplied was incorrect, delivery was declined, customs charges lawfully
due were unpaid or collection instructions were not followed, reasonable redelivery charges may apply after
discussion with the buyer, subject to applicable law.
7. Guarantee of Craftsmanship — 12 months
TWC warrants each ring against defects in materials & workmanship, for a period of twelve months from the date of
purchase. This voluntary guarantee is provided by The Wooden Circle Co, operated by Joseph Jauregui, an
Australian sole trader (ABN 20 800 967 885). It is a guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship arising
within the 12-month period. Any rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable mandatory laws are in
addition to this guarantee and are not limited to 12 months.
To request assistance under our 12-month Guarantee of Craftsmanship, contact us with your order number and
date, a description of the suspected materials or workmanship defect, and photographs if available. We may request
inspection of the ring. For an eligible claim, we will arrange a repair, replacement or other appropriate resolution
under the guarantee; mandatory statutory remedies continue to apply independently.
The voluntary Guarantee of Craftsmanship applies where the ring has been cared for and maintained in accordance
with the supplied instructions. It does not cover ordinary wear and tear, routine scratching or patina, or damage from
abuse, misuse, negligence or inadequate care. Third-party modification, repair or resizing is excluded under the
voluntary guarantee where it causes or contributes to the claimed fault. Nothing in these exclusions removes
statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
For an accepted claim under our voluntary Guarantee of Craftsmanship, we will bear the reasonable costs of the
covered remedy and associated reasonable return postage as described in this policy. Contact us before shipping
and keep your receipt. Claims contact: The Wooden Circle Co (operator: Joseph Jauregui),
woodencircle@outlook.com, +61 433 612 458. A suitable returns address will be supplied after contact; a full legal
postal/service address still needs confirmation for the published warranty statement.
Mandatory Australian Consumer Law notice
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably
foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the
failure does not amount to a major failure.
8. Normal wear, finishes and care
All ring metals can scratch or mark with wear; neither titanium nor tantalum is scratch-proof. Bronze, copper, silver
and certain other materials may develop patina or appearance changes. Hand-finished, etched or patterned metals
can vary between pieces. Bentwood rings have particular sensitivity to moisture, impacts, hand sanitiser, alcohol-
based products and chemicals, and may show a small construction seam. Keep wooden rings as dry as practicable
and remove them before swimming or demanding manual work.
Wear and care depend on the exact materials and construction. An appearance change is not automatically a
defect, but this section cannot be used to dismiss a failure to satisfy a consumer guarantee.
9. Requesting assistance and returning goods
Contact us at woodencircle@outlook.com before arranging a return shipment where practical.
Provide your name, order number, purchase date, item, issue and photographs where helpful.
Wait for the correct return instructions so the ring is sent to the right service address; do not assume the public
business address is the returns location.
THE WOODEN CIRCLE CO / RETURNS & REFUNDS
THE WOODEN CIRCLE CO • 21 OCTOBER 2026
Use secure packaging and a tracked service where practical. We will advise the appropriate method and cover
or reimburse costs where required by law.
Refunds approved or required by law are ordinarily returned to the original payment method. Processing time may
vary depending on the payment provider and your bank.
10. International consumers and right of withdrawal
Additional mandatory rights may apply to customers outside Australia. In particular, eligible consumers in the
European Union or European Economic Area may have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from certain distance
sales after receipt. A genuine bespoke or clearly personalised item may qualify for an exception; merely making a
standard catalogue ring after receiving the order does not, by itself, establish that the exception applies.
Where a mandatory withdrawal right applies: tell us clearly within the relevant 14-day period that you wish to
withdraw; return goods within 14 days of that notification, unless a different legal rule applies; use only the handling
reasonably needed to inspect the item. The customer may be responsible for direct return-postage costs where
properly disclosed before purchase. We will refund the purchase price and applicable standard outward delivery
costs within the legally required timeframe; where permitted we may wait for the goods or proof of their return. Any
deduction for diminished value will be made only as permitted by law.
A customer exercising a statutory withdrawal right does not need to claim that the product is faulty. These rights and
any required standard withdrawal form must be supplied before purchase where applicable. This section does not
promise a universal withdrawal right for genuinely made-to-specification or engraved goods.
